TSA Unveils Plan for Follow-On Network Equipment, Maintenance Support Contract

The Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration plans to launch a competition for a follow-on contract to continue to provide network and telecommunications equipment, licensing and maintenance services in support of existing and emerging requirements. TSA expects to issue a solicitation by June 14 and award the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity recompete contract by the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2024, according to a notice published Thursday on the Acquisition Planning Forecast System.

Kongsberg NanoAvionics to Build 2nd Satellite for LANL Experiment for Space Radiation Analysis Mission

A unit of Kongsberg’s defense and aerospace business has received a contract from Los Alamos National Laboratory to build another satellite for LANL’s Experiment for Space Radiation Analysis mission. Kongsberg NanoAvionics said Wednesday it will make some mechanical arrangements to configure one of its 12U satellite buses to enable the spacecraft to host payloads for the ESRA mission.

ICF Secures $75M EPA Health & Environmental Risk Assessment Support Contract

ICF has secured a $75 million contract to help the Environmental Protection Agency perform risk assessments to protect human health and the environment. A notice posted Thursday on SAM.gov states that the contractor will assist the EPA in assessing health risks to humans and the environment and develop novel methods, guidelines and models for conducting risk assessments.

An RTX subsidiary is set to collaborate with industry partners for the development of a new technology that could enhance sensor capabilities across ground, maritime and airborne domains under a $20 million National Security Technology Accelerator contract. BAE Hands Over New Amphibious Combat Vehicle Variant to Marine Corps

BAE Systems is poised to commence vehicle testing activities after delivering to the U.S. Marine Corps the first production representative test vehicle of the amphibious combat vehicle 30-millimeter cannon variant. The aerospace company said Thursday it will continue to collaborate with the service branch and the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering over the next 15 months to test and demonstrate the PRTV during a Fleet Marine Force event in southern California.

General Atomics Demonstrates SUAS Launch Capability From Avenger Unmanned Aircraft

An Advanced Air-Launched Effects platform was released from an MQ-20 Avenger unmanned aircraft system while in flight during a demonstration conducted at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah in November last year. General Atomics' aeronautical systems business said Thursday that the launch capped a series of demo activities of the A2LE platform, which covered not only flight but also manufacturing and structural testing.
