Comtech Gets $74M Wireless Emergency Comms Support Contract - top government contractors - best government contracting eventComtech Telecommunications‘ safety and security technologies group has secured a potential four-year, $73.8 million contract to help a U.S. telecommunications company implement wireless emergency communications services.

Work also covers operational and maintenance support for Enhanced 9-1-1 systems designed to route emergency calls from mobile devices to a public-safety answering point as well as transmit location data and call back number to the 9-1-1 dispatcher, Comtech said Monday.

Comtech will also support the telecommunications firm’s voice over 3G/4G technologies and 5G network services upon launch.

The contract has a base performance period of two years along with two option periods.

The customer provided $17.7 million for the initial purchase order under the contract, Comtech noted.
