D-Fend Solutions has appointed Terry DiVittorio, a U.S. Air Force veteran, to lead the company's expanded North American business as general manager. DiVittorio will lead a team, which includes personnel in Canada, to expand the company's presence in North America and deliver services to customers in the region, the company said Thursday.

Michael Huerta, former head of the Federal Aviation Administration, has been appointed to the advisory board of counter-drone technology maker D-Fend Solutions. He holds almost 30 years of experience in the industrial areas of security and aviation safety, and will contribute to D-Fend's pursuit of technologies that counter unmanned aircraft systems, D-Fend Solutions said Thursday.

D-Fend Solutions is working with a Department of Defense office to develop technologies that will protect warfighters and civilians from enemy unmanned aircraft systems.

The Pentagon's Defense Innovation Unit has assessed an autonomous system from D-Fend Solutions at an  interagency test event that showcased 16 counter-unmanned aircraft systems.
