Todd Gustafson, president of HP's federal arm, has said government organizations need to recognize security issues in endpoint devices that are connected to a mobile federal workforce and implement protective measures to avoid a cyberattack. "Whatever approach an organization takes, it must accept the need for change and embrace the idea that every technology decision is a security decision," Gustafson wrote in a FedTech guest piece.

The Professional Services Council Foundation has issued a report that assesses the federal government’s adoption of artificial intelligence and identifies the opportunities and challenges agencies face when it comes to AI implementation. The report highlighted opportunities that AI offers to the government including reduction in backlog; optimization of resource allocation; accelerated decision making; fraud prevention; and extraction of insights from large amounts of data.

He wrote in an opinion piece published Wednesday on Government Technology that there has been “a clear and dramatic shift” across government agencies to embrace as-a-Service models for devices.
