Accenture and Avanade have been selected to migrate the email service of England’s Health Department and Scotland’s National Health Service to a new cloud-based platform in a move to help social workers collaborate.
The companies will implement a new directory and Lync collaboration technology for instant messaging, voice over Internet protocol, audio and video communication, Accenture said Thursday.
The agreement was signed in June 2015 and is for a five-year term.
Aimie Chapple, managing director for Accenture’s U.K. health business, said the updated NHSmail service is intended to help “NHS employees exchange information, communicate and interact across healthcare.â€
The new email service is based on Microsoft Exchange 2013.
