Red Hat, Tata Consultancy Services Form NFV Service Alliance; Radhesh Balakrishnan Comments

Red Hat and Tata Consultancy Services have forged a partnership to perform verification services on network function virtualization platforms for customers.

Based on Red Hat’s enterprise Linux OpenStack platform, the alliance will assist clients in validating service design, orchestration, functional testing and characterization of NFV services, TCS said Wednesday.

“The combination of consulting services from TCS and production-ready Red Hat enterprise Linux OpenStack platform provides an environment where more carriers can realize the potential of NFV and implement an open infrastructure that can scale with their needs,” said Radhesh Balakrishnan, general manager of OpenStack at Red Hat.

The NFV orchestration and test framework is designed to comply with European Telecommunications Standards Institute rules.

The companies will automate the verification of orchestration, configuration, lifecycle events and functionality in order to provide an integrated platform.
