A BAE Systems and Iveco Defence alliance is bidding on a contract to build an amphibious combat vehicle for the U.S. Marine Corps.
The team offered the military service an ACV platform that has undergone mobility tests and performed amphibious operations, BAE said Tuesday.
USMC could award up to two contracts for the engineering, manufacturing and development phase of the program, scheduled to start later this year.
BAE said Iveco Defence has manufactured more than 30,000 multipurpose armored vehicles for military customers worldwide to date.
