The U.S. Missile Defense Agency and Northrop Grumman have partnered to conduct a five-day command cyber readiness inspection at the agency’s Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center in Colorado.
Northrop said Tuesday the evaluation sought to determine if computer networks at the site comply with the Defense Department‘s information assurance and network security and configuration standards.
MDA received an “Excellent” rating from the graded cybersecurity inspection, according to Northrop.
“Collaboratively and aggressively, Northrop Grumman and the MDA pursued the readiness and we are gratified with the validation of a successful security posture,” said Dan Verwiel, vice president and general manager of Northrop’s integrated air and missile defense division.
Inspectors also assessed MDIOC’s physical security, leadership management, administration, training, organizational culture and network operations.
The company supports modeling, simulation, ground and flight testing, war games, and analysis at the center, as well as helps safeguard computers and networks at the facility.
