CAE has won a contract of an undisclosed amount to supply a simulation system to Sweden’s navy in order to help train sailors in warfare tactics and C4 operations.
The company is slated to deliver its Naval Warfare Training System to Sweden’s navy in late 2015 and will also provide technical support as well as on-site training services, CAE said Tuesday.
NWTS is comprised of wargaming consoles, software and classroom workstations and allows naval forces to rehearse for search and rescue, warfare and surveillance activities.
Gene Colabatistto, group president of defense and security at CAE, said the company aims to help defense and security organizations deploy training equipment for air, sea and land missions.
The system also includes student and instructor workstations that are designed with technology for simulating radar and sonar systems and generating computer-generated forces.
CAE built the simulator by using an open database architecture that works to facilitate interoperability and distributed mission training.
