Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd. has completed the design and development phases for Inmarsat’s new satellite mobile device offering.
Sasken worked to design the software, hardware and antenna systems, as well as to integrate and test the IsatPhone 2 mobile handset, Sasken Communication said Monday.
The satellite phone features network registration, voicemail, emergency assistance, built-in E-compass and bluetooth connectivity.
“We are pleased with the capability and commitment demonstrated by Sasken in developing a high quality robust handheld for our satellite phone portfolio,†said Ronald Spithout, president of Inmarsat Enterprise.
Sasken’s Finland-based team was responsible for designing the hardware, the team in India for software development and integration and the Indonesia, Europe and North America teams for the satellite testing phase.
