Juniper Networks will provide a network overlay platform to Hong Kong-based Cyberport for a program designed to virtualize and automate public cloud networking for entrepreneurs in Asia.
Cyberport selected Juniper’s Contrail software-defined architecture to deliver networking services and help startups build information and communications technology applications in the cloud, Juniper said Monday.
Aruna Ravichandran, vice president of product and solutions marketing at Juniper, said the company intends for the SDN platform to improve agility within the creative digital business community.
The digital venture Cyberport will deploy Juniper’s MX80 3D universal edge router to manage network bandwidth and provisioning, as well as the Contrail SDN to handle infrastructure configurations.
Juniper designed the products to integrate with a range of physical networks, hypervisors and cloud operating systems such as OpenStack.
Cyberport also intends for the Juniper technology to help customers network, compute and store assets through a self-service portal.
