Aquia Nava II, a joint venture between Aquia and Nava, has been awarded a three-year, $42.7 million contract by the Department of Veteran Affairs to modernize its disability claims processing system.
The cloud and cybersecurity digital services firm said Tuesday Aquia Nava II, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, or SDVOSB, was named the prime awardee on the Disability Benefits Crew contract under the VA’s Secure, Performant, Reliable and User-Centered Experiences, or SPRUCE, IT modernization vehicle.
Disability Benefits Crew Contract Scope
Under the contract, the joint venture will digitize and streamline the department’s disability claims process to bolster user experience for veterans and VA personnel, boost decision times and enhance data accuracy.
Aquia Nava II will leverage its background in working closely with the VA and its Office of the Chief Technology Officer, or OCTO, and its know-how of modernizing secure forms, integrating systems and developing user experience.
Coforma, Oddball and Verdance will join the project as subcontractors. Conforma will offer its expertise in developing human-centered design and agile software, as well as managing products and programs. Oddball will contribute its extensive background in designing, building and deploying accessible Veteran-facing applications and forms. It will also leverage its expertise within the VA OCTO. Verdance will bring vast knowledge in benefits expertise, particularly in contention classification and disability compensation.
David Maskeroni, co-founder and chief revenue officer of Aquia, remarked, “Having personally navigated these systems as veterans, we understand firsthand the challenges that users are facing. We look forward to serving our fellow Veterans by creating a streamlined, intuitive experience that honors their service and gets them the benefits they’ve earned with greater speed and accuracy.”
