Fred Avila announced on LinkedIn Monday that he had been named vice president of strategic business intelligence at HII Mission Technologies.
In his new role, Avila will leverage his 20 years of experience working for private and public companies in the defense sector. He brings progressive leadership experience and knowledge of government contract pricing and price strategy, price-to-win, competitive intelligence collection, cost volume lead, financial modeling and analysis, business development and capture management.

The seasoned executive has been part of Mission Technologies since 2021. He started as the VP of pricing solutions, where he supervised a team responsible for pricing, price-to-win and competitive intelligence.
Before joining the HII division, Avila was the director of price-to-win at Alion Science and Technology, where he was instrumental in the company receiving the $900 million Navy Integrated Training Environment contract. He previously served as senior director of strategic pricing MacAulay-Brown, senior associate at Booz Allen Hamilton and manager of pricing at Maximus.
Avila spent over four years at Northrop Grumman working as a price-to-win specialist and analyst. He also served as an operations manager at Oracle from 1998 to 2004 and as a financial analyst at EIS International.
