Gary Merrill, an 18-year Commvault mainstay and current chief financial officer, has been appointed the company’s first chief commercial officer.
In light of the move, Jennifer DiRico has been selected to fill the position of CFO beginning Aug. 12, the Tinton Falls, New Jersey-based company announced Monday.
As CCO, Merrill will use his knowledge of financial operations to facilitate Commvault’s global sales and partner teams. Sanjay Mirchandani, president and CEO of Commvault, said the company knew Merrill was well suited for the position once he applied.
“When Gary threw his hat in the ring for the CCO role, we immediately knew this was the right move at the right time. Gary is relentlessly focused on customers, partners, and operational excellence,” said Mirchandani.
Mirchandani is also excited to add DiRico to Commvault’s leadership team.
“She has a proven track record of scaling and leading finance and operations teams at high growth companies and is a perfect fit for Commvault,” Mirchandani enthused.
DiRico served as the senior vice president and general manager of international at Toast for nearly 10 years. During that time, she increased Toast’s customer base to over 1,000 and annual recurring revenue to over $1 billion.
As Commvault aims to enhance its cyber resilience platform, Merrill and DiRico look to provide experience to aid the company’s progress.
“I’m excited to take those relationships to the next level as CCO, as we focus on reaching $1 billion in ARR by FY’26. I also look forward to partnering with Jen as we transition into our new roles,” Merrill stated.
“Commvault’s highly successful transition to a subscription and SaaS model is world-class,” DiRico said.” I look forward to expediting Commvault’s profitable growth as the company leads the charge in cyber resilience. I’m also excited to work closely with employees around the globe, including the company’s talented leadership team.”
