This year, Steven earned his first-ever Wash100 award for his success in driving Leidos’ contracting work in his areas of expertise while taking major steps to expand its Australia arm.

Prior to joining Leidos, the industry veteran spent two decades with Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems and Global Solutions business, which merged with Leidos in 2016. During the merger, Stevens transitioned into the role of senior vice president of defense and intelligence business development at Leidos. He then climbed the ranks to his current position, where his work centers intelligence cyber, software, artificial intelligence, information technology and a variety of other technology areas. The executive also oversees multiple programs within Leidos’ Australia business, including defense and intelligence.
Last year, Stevens’ inspired leadership landed Leidos a number of contracts, one of which was valued at a remarkable $1.5 billion. Under the task order the Department of Defense awarded in May, the enterprise is developing and implementing new command, control, communications, cyber, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance tools while enhancing legacy systems.
In June, Leidos secured a 10-year, $84.9 million Defense Intelligence Agency contract to assist the agency with automating its operations, install a data-centric, cloud-based architecture to support the development of digital enrichment applications and widen data accessibility to include outside clients and collaborators.
Later, the company landed a $55 million Transportation Security Administration contract for the management and disposal of hazardous materials at more than 430 federal airports, a continuation of Leidos’ enduring partnership with the agency that followed a similar five-year contract awarded in 2017.
Under Stevens’ leadership, Leidos’ Australia business acquired Cobham’s Australian Special Mission unit, which operates as part of the international technology provider’s Cobham Aviation Services subsidiary. The acquisition, which was closed in November 2022, widened the portfolio of Leidos’ Australia business to include search-and-rescue and airborne border surveillance offerings, which boosted the organization’s intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.
Since Stevens’ induction into the 2023 Wash100 class in late January, Leidos has already worked to further expand its longstanding relationship with TSA. In February, the enterprise booked a contract to improve the agency’s ProVision imaging software with an artificial intelligence-based algorithm to minimize security false alarms. Under the award, Leidos will aid in the modernization of over 1,000 ProVision systems.
With an already strong start to the year, Leidos is well positioned to continue its dedicated intelligence and homeland security work while moving further into the Australian defense market. Stevens’ proven leadership spirit has left no doubt that the company’s success will reach new heights in 2023.
