In April 2022, Arnette assumed leadership of Jacobs’ CMS line of business from Dawne Hickton, another Wash100 awardee who oversaw the CMS organization for the past three years. He was promoted from his previous role as senior vice president of advanced engineering, research and operations for CMS.
Leveraging his nearly three-decade experience with Jacobs, Arnette leads CMS as the company looks to achieve net revenue growth from 6 percent to 9 percent for the business as part of a three-year corporate strategy.
One of the major contract awards that could possibly propel Jacobs to reach its fiscal 2022 to 2024 growth targets is a recompete deal with NASA to continue providing Johnson Space Center with a range of support services. The potential 10-year, $3.9 billion JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II contract extends the partnership between Jacobs and the NASA hub in Houston, Texas, and requires the contractor and its industry team to deliver engineering and scientific products as well as technical services.
Commenting on the multi-billion indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract award, Arnette said, “[Jacobs’] commitment to providing efficient and innovative solutions through the JETS II contract will support NASA in furthering our knowledge of the universe while creating a more connected, sustainable world.”
Another NASA contract win for Jacobs is a five-year, $209 million award for Ames Research Center support. Under the Aerospace Testing and Facilities Operations and Maintenance-5 contract, the company will provide support services for experiments in the ground-based aerospace facilities at Ames. Jacobs will build on its work as the ATOM-4 incumbent contractor.
Continuing the series of NASA-related work, Jacobs received a potential five-year, $92.5 million architect-engineer services contract in December. The company is tasked to perform environmental compliance, monitoring and remediation services at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory in California.
Most recently, Jacobs was awarded a potential 10-year, $3.2 billion contract for the Consolidated Operations, Management, Engineering and Test work at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The COMET contract extends the company’s more than two-decade history of supporting operations at KSC, including the Exploration Ground Systems program and other key NASA spaceflight initiatives.
“Jacobs provided excellent support in helping NASA upgrade KSC’s heritage shuttle facilities and ground systems in preparation for the first Artemis flight,” said Arnette.
Also in connection to KSC, Jacobs is one of NASA’s partners on the Artemis I mission. The unmanned flight test was launched from a KSC complex in November to assess the Space Launch System rocket’s performance and Orion spacecraft’s capabilities to support future lunar exploration.
Arnette considers Artemis I as one of the drivers of “new era of scientific discovery and human exploration of deep space.” He reiterated Jacobs’ commitment to providing NASA with innovative platforms and technologies in support of the space agency’s missions.
