Joel Bagnal, director of federal business at cybercrime analytics provider SpyCloud, said he expects future cybersecurity performance goals from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to pave way to better visibility into cyberthreats facing the critical infrastructure sector, InformationWeek reported Friday.
Bagnal’s statement comes a week after CISA released a new set of cybersecurity performance goals intended to guide critical infrastructure owners and organizations of all sizes in implementing security practices and measures that align with the National Institute for Standards and Technology’s framework.
“A lack of identity intelligence and visibility into emerging cyber threats is the greatest challenge facing the critical infrastructure sector today,” Bagnal said.
He anticipates that future goals from CISA work to address “the intersection between identity intelligence and infrastructure.”
