Amazon Web Services has secured High Authority to Operate certification under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program for its omnichannel cloud contact center service.

The designation enables AWS customers to use Amazon Connect to operate a cloud-based center service authorized to handle controlled unclassified information, AWS specialists Samuel Frederick and Jason Shaffer said in a blog post published Friday.

Amazon Connect can be integrated with other AWS tools authorized at high impact level including the fully managed artificial intelligence service Amazon Lex, which customers can use to build conversational AI interactive voice response interfaces into the contract center.

AWS noted that the authorization applies to its GovCloud (US) Regions, which allow U.S. government agencies to transition sensitive workloads into a cloud environment.
