The Space Development Agency has released a request for information on an application factory envisioned to provide software capabilities in support of battle management, command, control and communications of future data transport layer satellites.
Responses to the RFI will help inform future solicitations related to the application factory, which will support Tranche 1 Transport Layer satellites within the National Defense Space Architecture, the agency said.
Both space and ground-based BMC3 software capabilities are aimed at providing warfighters with relevant data before or as battlefield threats approach.
Interested companies can submit responses until Jan. 14, around two years before the launch of the transport layer in fiscal 2024.
On Dec. 7, SDA published a draft solicitation for the Tranche 1 Tracking Layer prototyping program.
