Guidehouse CEO Scott McIntyre Named to 2021 Wash100 for Driving Company Growth; Advancing Emerging Tech Capabilities

Executive Mosaic is honored to announce Guidehouse CEO Scott McIntyre as a recipient of the 2021 Wash100 Award, his fifth consecutive time winning the most prestigious award in all of government contracting (GovCon).

McIntyre has been recognized with a 2021 Wash100 Award for his leadership with Guidehouse that includes driving company growth through major acquisitions such as Navigant and the company’s reorganization to focus on advancing its emerging technology capabilities.

“Leadership, Innovation, Reliability, Achievement and Vision are the qualities of our leaders within the GovCon sector. After our announcement of the top Wash100, the ‘wisdom of the crowd’ has selected their favorite top 10 for 2020,” said Jim Garrettson, founder and CEO of Executive Mosaic.

McIntyre, who was named the 2020 Wash100 Popular Vote winner, spoke to ExecutiveBiz about Guidehouse’s acquisition of Navigant and the transaction’s impact on the company’s growth and capabilities during an Executive Spotlight interview in June 2020.

“The ability to go into our public-sector health clients and have commercial clinical operations, commercial payer capabilities and experience with drug companies and life sciences companies, then pull that commercial pedigree and capability into certain public-sector pursuits or public sector deliveries is a game changer,” he told ExecutiveBiz.

McIntyre mentioned some of the capabilities Navigant brought to Guidehouse, including its forensics, forensic accounting, litigation and disputes business and a client base that turns to Navigant for sustainability needs.

Through the acquisition, he said Guidehouse brought to Navigant its finance skill set and capabilities in artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotic process automation.

Guidehouse started 2021 with the appointment of 20 new partners to lead the company’s various practices, including national security, sustainability and infrastructure, health, financial services, health, cybersecurity and managed services. These appointments were in addition to eight partners the company named in April 2020.

“Each of our newest partners brings a demonstrated level of commitment to quality in serving our clients, deep industry knowledge, and a passion for growing our business,” McIntyre said then.

Guidehouse won a number of contracts in 2020, including a 10-year contract with the State Department to develop an identity management and credential management system, a five-year contract with the Department of Defense to help DOD modernize its financial management processes and a contract with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston to support the Main Street Lending Program that offers loans to small and medium-sized businesses.

In August of last year, Guidehouse announced that it received Capability Maturity Model Integration Level 3 appraisal for its Advanced Solutions.

“Being appraised as a CMMI Level 3 organization is a critical milestone for our young business and an important credential for our clients. This designation recognizes that Guidehouse Advanced Solutions consistently deliver solutions using repeatable processes and it signifies our commitment to continuous improvement,” said McIntyre.

Guidehouse’s support to military veterans continues to draw recognition.

In September, Guidehouse was recognized as a “Military Friendly Employer” by veteran-owned recruitment marketing company Viqtory for the second consecutive year. Two months later, the company received the 2020 Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Gold Medallion Award.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award selects recipients based on veteran recruitment and retention, dedicated human resources, tuition assistance programs, compensation and leadership programming.

“We are proud and honored to be recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor as a HIRE Vets Medallion Award recipient for our commitment to our nation’s veterans,” said McIntyre.
