Golden Key Group (GKG) announced the promotion of Jeffrey Fowler to be the first-ever president of the Reston, Virginia-based professional services company.
Fowler, who joined GKG as vice president of Navy programs in September 2020, will be responsible for the company’s execution of all program and business operations and will work closely with Gretchen McCracken, CEO and managing partner of GKG, to strengthen the company’s mission of providing the federal government with workforce optimization offerings.
“Jeff leads from the front and is an expert at building cultures of collaboration, respect and accountability. As we continue to hone an assertive growth path, Jeff’s operational excellence will be pivotal in helping drive GKG forward,” said McCracken.
Fowler is a retired U.S. Navy vice admiral. During his time with the service branch, he was the U.S. Naval Academy superintendent, led the Navy’s nationwide recruitment programs and was a captain of a fast-attack submarine.
Outside of his military experience, Fowler was a senior leader at a higher-education company and president of a government services organization.
Fowler’s appointment and other executive movements at the company come as GKG works on a $110 million contract awarded in October 2020 by the Department of Commerce. McCracken commented, “Our highly-qualified specialists will ensure effective, efficient, and responsive [Personnel Action Request, Payroll and Benefits] services for 46,000 employees across all Commerce bureaus.”
