Rave Mobile Safety's emergency communications platform has been certified for government use under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program.
The company said Friday its product meets public safety requirements for infrastructure to provide rapid communications for emergency scenarios, such as natural disasters.
The Department of Energy and A-LIGN Compliance and Security, a third-party assessment organization, evaluated Rave's product and determined its eligibility for use in the federal government based on a baseline set of standards for cloud offerings.
FedRAMP aims to standardize the security of cloud-based products and services used in the federal government in an effort to pursue advanced adoption of secure cloud offerings.
Todd Miller, chief operating officer at Rave, said the FedRAMP approval provides federal access to communication systems that comply with mission-critical requirements.
