Peter Amirkhan, senior vice president for public sector at Zscaler, has said that implementing a digital structure, prioritizing cloud efforts and adapting hardware infrastructure for telework has helped agencies ensure operational efficiency amid the pandemic.
Amirkhan wrote in a commentary published Thursday on Federal News Network that agencies should shift their focus toward bandwidth scalability and management to avoid traffic bottlenecks and virtual private network risks.
He noted that organizations must work to balance operations and security to help drive technology scaling for a remote workforce while protecting sensitive data and improving visibility across digital environments.
According to Amirkhan, agencies must evaluate existing frameworks and implement emergency workarounds to establish a sustainable telework approach.
“Many employees have come to value the greater flexibility of being able to choose where they work,†he said. “The new world of work requires an approach that combines connectivity, security and performance.â€
