Leanne Caret, president and CEO of Boeing’s defense, space and security business and a 2020 Wash100 Award winner, told Air Force Magazine in an interview published Monday about the company’s focus on the “art of connectivity†and its potential role in the U.S. Air Force’s Advanced Battle Management System.
“One of our visions is to not only provide something that is operationally relevant to the warfighter, but making certain that we use that digital engineering thread throughout that entire value system from concept all the way through its life including sustainment,†Caret said.
“With ABMS, we have been focusing on that art of connectivity. It’s not about Boeing products connecting to one another, it’s about all products connecting to one another and it’s about the ability for manned unmanned teaming to occur so that we can continue to stay in advance of the adversary.â€
She noted that ABMS is about the collection and dissemination of information across multiple spectrums and that she expects Boeing to have more conversations from seabed to space with regard to the effort.
“I’m all for creating an unfair fight and anything that we can do to demonstrate that is really important,†she added.
Caret provided updates on Boeing’s work on several programs such as the KC-46 Pegasus tanker, T-7A trainer, F15ex, MH-139 helicopter and airpower teaming system. She also shared her views on the U.S. Space Force and the company’s focus on speed and agility.
