Oracle has partnered with the city of Vallejo in California to deploy the company’s web-based community development tool to help simplify the delivery of construction permit services to constituents.
The Vallejo Planning and Development Services Department intends to use Oracle’s product to manage online permit services as well as other functions like customer support, the company said Monday.
The cloud-based tool serves as a data management platform that works to automate manual processes such as permit applications, plan reviews, inspection scheduling, consultation, code enforcement and other reporting functionalities.
According to the department, the self-service platform’s deployment comes as part of efforts to shift personnel’s focus from managing routine customer requests to addressing the increasing amount of application requests.
Vallejo authorities expect to roll out additional permit types on a phased basis later this year.
