Lockheed Martin selected Colorado-based space electronics provider SEAKR Engineering to help build a satellite communications payload for the U.S. Space Force, SpaceNews reported Sunday.
Sources said Lockheed and SEAKR are expected to announce this week their partnership on the Protected Tactical Satcom program.
Lockheed and Boeing received separate contracts in early March to create jam-resistant communications payloads for deployment on geostationary satellites. The Space Force also awarded a PTS payload development contract to Northrop Grumman in February.
SEAKR produces digital communications payloads, data handling systems, processors and other hardware for space platform and will work on the PTS program by adapting technologies used in its Wolverine RF processing system.
