Three firms have received contracts of an undisclosed sum to provide enrollment services in support of an expedited screening program under the Transportation Security Administration.
Idemia, Alclear and Telos Identity Management Solutions will help validate registration locations and build enrollment systems as part of the TSA PreCheck effort, the agency said Thursday.
TSA will evaluate the platforms and verify if they have achieved cybersecurity standards before the companies perform registration services.Â
The agency awarded the contract in response to the TSA Modernization Act, a bill that requires TSA to sign agreements with two entities from the private sector to expand the capabilities of the TSA PreCheck initiative.
The TSA PreCheck program is established to help low-risk travelers undergo a smart and efficient screening process with 73 airline companies at over 200 U.S. airports. U.S. nationals, lawful U.S. residents and travelers who are U.S. citizens may apply for the program.
