World Wide Technology has partnered with Privoro to develop a mobile identity management tool for the Defense Information Systems Agency that will work to ensure edge-level security for iOS devices.
The firms will create a device management prototype intended to handle identity assurance and access to sensitive information through mobile devices including microphones and cameras, WWT said Tuesday.
As part of the prototyping phase, both companies will incorporate sensor control, mobile hardening, and policy enforcement features into an integrated platform in compliance with Committee of National Security Systems requirements.
Privoro currently offers a device security tool called SafeCase that uses system-on-a-chip and authentication features to protect smartphones and defend its systems against audio and video surveillance.
Bryan Thomas, senior vice president of WWT’s public sector segment, said the prototype will enable Department of Defense customers to provide smartphone access to critical information while ensuring security and preventing surveillance activities by malicious actors.
WWT is a technical services and consultancy firm based in St. Louis. Privoro is headquartered in Tempe, Ariz. and offers hardware, anti-surveillance and security management products for mobile devices.
