Stephen Skarlatos, an information technology veteran for 39 years, has been named chief information officer of IT services provider Planned Systems International.
He will be responsible for overseeing the company's technology management department, implementing a shared institutional knowdledge base and driving adoption of cloud computing, DevOps and big data platforms in his new position, PSI said Thursday.
Previously, Skarlatos provided services to PSI as a senior IT consultant.
He received the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional award in the Visual Developer – Solutions Architect category during his time as a member of the Microsoft Architectural Advisory Board and has been a speaker at mainframe user conferences.
He also led a research-and-development team that built Unisys Mainframes’ open database connectivity-based client platform.
Columbia, Md.-based  PSI offers IT and management consulting services in areas such as defense, national security, healthcare and environment.
