The Missile Defense Agency requests for information on the further development, flight and ground testing and support services of a system designed to deter enemy ballistic missiles. MDA said Aug. 12 in a FedBizOpps notice it intends to assess the market for risks and recommendations associated with the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system.
A future contractor will provide program management, systems engineering and testing for the development and integration of THAAD’s launcher, fire control and communications, missile interceptors and peculiar support equipment.
Services will also include quality, safety and mission performance assessments. Work will take place between 2021 and 2026. Interested parties may submit input through Aug. 30 this year. THAAD is designed to provide ballistic missile defense against short- and medium-range threats.
