The U.S. Air Force and the Defense Logistics Agency's energy office have issued a request for information to look for inputs on the management and procurement of energy at an Air Force installation.
The agencies are looking for a potential contractor that will provide resilient and low-cost energy-as-a-service efforts to the Hanscom Air Force Base, DLA said Wednesday.
The RFI follows a previously released market survey in 2017 that sought concepts and business models in line with the EaaS approach.
"Given the electrical system configuration, high cost of power and status of ongoing initiatives at Hanscom, we believe the timing is perfect for an overall integration and optimization effort like EaaS,†said Chad Ellsworth, commander of the 66th Air Base Group at Hanscom Air Force Base.
Interested firms may submit their responses to the notice on or before June 14.
