BAE Lands Navy Contract Option for USS Paul Ignatius Post-Shakedown Work - top government contractors - best government contracting event

A BAE Systems business unit received a one-year, $23.9M contract option from the U.S. Navy to continue post-shakedown availability operations for the guided missile destroyer USS Paul Ignatius.

The company's ship repair business in Jacksonville, Fla., will help the service branch address government responsible trial card deficiencies and incorporate engineering changes that were not applied during the construction of the Arleigh Burke-class vessel designated as DDG 117, the Department of Defense said Friday.

The exercised option will include new work identified following custody transfer of the destroyer ship to the Navy and before commencement of the PSA period.

Huntington Ingalls Industries' Ingalls Shipbuilding division delivered USS Paul Ignatius to the Navy in February.
