ATLAS Space Operations and the Defense Innovation Unit have partnered to develop a satellite communications system in an effort to help the U.S. Air Force address multiband, multimission requirements.
The project will run for one year, followed by a series of tests at Schriever AF Base in Colorado to demonstrate the features of ATLAS'Â LINKSÂ electronically steered array system, the company said Wednesday.
LINKS is designed to communicate with multiple satellites, deliver telemetry data to ascending rockets and track resident space objects.
The company intends to participate at the SATELLITE 2019 event that will take place from May 6 to 9 in Washington, D.C. and discuss its development partnership with DIU.
