LiveSafe received certification-level approval from the Department of Homeland Security for a technology platform designed to help customers obtain situational awareness of potential security, operational and security risks.
The LiveSafe Platform, which consists of a mobile application and a command dashboard, is now included on the DHS Approved Products List for Homeland Security, the company said Tuesday.
The accreditation covers sales from January 2017 and is valid through 2024. It also includes regulatory protections under the Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act.
Carolyn Parent, president and CEO of LiveSafe, added that the accreditation ensures that LiveSafe users are protected from downstream liability in the event of a terrorist attack.
Akmal Ali, a principal at Catalyst Partners and former deputy director of the DHS Office of SAFETY Act Implementation, said that LiveSafe had to demonstrate platform development, maintenance and internal procedures in order to obtain the certification.
