A Deloitte article says government information technology leaders should consider four factors to realize the benefits of cloud adoption and one of those is measuring success in terms of mission.
Defining success in terms of mission could help organizations rationalize investments and encourage users to identify more ways to advance the use of cloud, according to the article published Thursday.
Agencies seeking to realize the advantages of cloud need to implement changes to how they operate especially in areas where they need to adapt: processes, policies and skills.
The article noted that cloud provides agencies an opportunity to gain access to an ecosystem of innovation partners and cloud-based tools and that organizations should implement a governance framework that promotes innovation.
Jon Taillon, a principal at Deloitte Consulting, and Doug Bourgeois, a managing director for the firm’s federal technology strategy and architecture practice, co-wrote the article with John O’Leary, a manager with Deloitte Services; Joe Mariani and Isaac Jenkins, who are both research managers with Deloitte’s Center for Government Insights.
