DCS has received a potential five-year, $50.2M contract from the Department of Defense to develop software for a joint automated system used to generate alerts and reports on incidents related to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and toxic industrial materials.
The company said Wednesday it will also provide integration, test, sustainment and post-deployment support for the Joint Warning and Reporting Network.
DoD components and joint headquarters use the platform to obtain situational awareness data and locate identified CBRN threats in the battlespace, as well as develop action plans to mitigate risks from weapons of mass destruction.
The JWARN application works with the Joint Effects Model to disseminate hazard forecasts to affected personnel and aid them in assessment and analysis of vulnerabilities.
DCS has supported the program over the past 16 years as a subcontractor that offers CBRN messaging services. The company noted it will open an office in Orlando and seeks to grow its footprint in San Diego through the new contract.
