Navy to Brief Industry on Shipyard Infrastructure Modernization Requirements - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe U.S. Navy will host an industry day on March 11 to discuss the requirements of an upcoming program to modernize systems that support depot-level maintenance work at  public naval shipyards.

A FedBizOpps notice posted Thursday says the military service intends to commence a dialogue with interested vendors during the industry day for its Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program.

SIOP aims to increase the operational capacity of naval shipyards by modernizing industrial facilities, dry docks, capital equipment and other utilities.

The Navy is inviting companies that offer environmental planning, smart building methods, engineering, construction, strategic utility implementation, industrial plant design, additive production, shipyard operations, automation and program management services to join the event.

Interested parties should register online and bring no more than two representatives to the industry day.
