A team composed of Cubic and iGov will develop a technology backbone to facilitate data communications among U.S. Marine Corps personnel under a potential five-year, $174M contract.
Cubic said Thursday it will also provide commercial off-the-shelf DTECH hardware components for integration into a small form-factor system iGov will produce to replace the Marine Air Ground Task Force’s Combat Data Network Data Distribution System-Modular.
Michael Barthlow, vice president and general manager of rugged internet of things solutions at Cubic’s mission solutions business, said the company invests in the development of computing, storage and memory platforms for command post use.
The DTECH system has network and environmental certifications and designed to address size, weight and power reduction standards.
DDS-M works to help Marines access, transmit, store and exchange tactical information. The platform is built to also authenticate users and equipment.
