Science Applications International Corp. has chosen Burwood Group to redesign the voice communications system within Orange County, Calif., as part of an SAIC-led team that won a $77M information technology services contract.
Burwood said Wednesday it will help design, implement and manage the county’s future IT and voice infrastructure.
SAIC was awarded the potential five-year, firm-fixed-price contract last month to provide managed services to local agencies and departments.
Bob Genter, senior vice president and general manager of SAIC’s federal civilian customer group, the company will collaborate with Burwood to build a unified communication system for the county.
Genter added the selection of Burwood as a subcontractor for the project was based on the IT integration firm’s innovation culture, technical work and voice technology deployment experience.
Burwood has helped customers monitor, manage and operate Cisco‘s unified communications installations from a voice operations facility in San Diego.
The contract has a three-year base period, valued at $51M, along with two one-year options.
