Amazon Web Services has authorized Carahsoft Technology to distribute AWS offerings across the public sector, building on the existing reseller agreement between the two companies.
Carahsoft said Tuesday it can now provide a full range of AWS offerings for the government under the AWS Public Sector Distribution Program and help resellers and service providers distribute VMware Cloud products.
The new agreement also directs Carahsoft to assign program managers, cloud consumption specialists and sales experts who would work to facilitate, support and expand the firm’s AWS distribution effort.
Craig Abod, president at Carahsoft and a four-time Wash100 recipient, said the company intends to expand its AWS distribution network and cloud expertise to address the government’s growing demand for flexible and scalable cloud services.
The company’s AWS partnership began in 2015 with an effort to facilitate the availability process of products on AWS Marketplace.
Earlier this year, Carahsoft began providing VMware Cloud services across the government under a number of contract vehicles.
The AWS-based VMware service establishes a common cloud infrastructure for government agencies, boosting both security and operational agility.
