Collins Aerospace, the combined firm of Rockwell Collins and United Technologies Corp.‘s aerospace systems business, has proposed leasing a facility in North Jacksonville, Fla., to manufacture polyurethane-based components for military use, Jax Daily Record reported Wednesday.
The report said the new company is requesting $1.64M in tax incentives as part of its business expansion proposal, which includes the creation of more than 100 jobs, in the region.
Collins Aerospace plans to invest $21.8M in the construction of a new industrial facility and procurement of equipment for the building, the report added.
The two-phase project, dubbed “Project Turtle,” will include office and data space and production systems.
