Microsoft and credit card company Mastercard have partnered to help consumers secure their digital identities when they interact with service providers, businesses and the online community.
Mastercard said Monday it expects the joint initiative to serve as the foundation for multiple services powered by Microsoft’s Azure platform and developed with government and industry partners.
Both companies will offer a service intended to help people input, manage and share identity data using devices.
The partnership seeks to provide online users with a single identity reusable for multiple interaction types, prevent fraudulent transactions, manage online shopping experience and simplify engagement with government agencies.
