Intel joined other commercial, government and academic organizations at a White House-hosted event that aimed to spur collaboration and research on quantum information sciences.
The White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy held the summit Monday to facilitate discussions about quantum innovation and workforce development, Intel said Monday.
According to the company, quantum computing technology has potential to accelerate the performance of some algorithms used for chemistry, medicine, finance and artificial intelligence applications.
House lawmakers passed on Sept. 13 a bipartisan bill, called the National Quantum Initiative Act, that would allocate $1.3B for quantum information science projects through 2023.
Intel noted it aims to work with multiple agencies in efforts to advance such technology and develop employees’ computing skills.
