Thomas Hawkins, a 29-year government service veteran, has joined military vehicle manufacturer Oskosh as senior vice president for government relations.
He previously served as national security adviser in the Office of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and as a senior professional staff member on the Senate Appropriations Committee’s defense and state, foreign operations and related programs subcommittee, Oshkosh said Monday.
The U.S. Marine Corps veteran also collaborated with White House and executive branch agencies on legislative, policy and other national security matters.
Hawkins succeeds Joseph Kimmitt, who is due to retire at the end of the year.
