BAE Systems has received a task order to provide touchscreen computer display units for navigation systems onboard the U.S. Army‘s UH-60A/L Black Hawk helicopters.
The company said Tuesday it will supply the CDUs in an effort to modernize the ASN-128 Doppler GPS Navigation System that works to help Army pilots view flight plan data.
Alan Dewar, director of communications and navigation solutions at BAE, said the touchscreen platform with a moving map feature seeks to increase the safety of pilots and aid them in missions.
The Army will initially receive 250 displays over the next two years through the order awarded under a potential $226 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract.
BAE will build the CDUs in Wayne, N.J., and manufacture circuit cards in Austin, Texas.
The service branch expects to use the ASN-128 navigation system up to 2035.
