Air Tractor and L3 Technologies have updated a joint intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and light strike aircraft offering to support compatibility with a suite of BAE System-built sensors.
The AT-802L Longsword platform can now accommodate BAE’s COBRA signals intelligence and electronic warfare sensor technologies on a wing station pod or in an inboard system, L3 said Monday.
BAE designed COBRA with an open architecture and a multiprotocol, software-based system.
Longsword, which holds Federal Aviation Administration and military type certificates, is built to support intelligence missions as well as conventional military and law enforcement operations.
L3 incorporates a glass cockpit, 3D autopilot and the company’s ForceX Widow mission management system into the ISR and light-attack aircraft.
The Widow software works to combine input from the WESCAM MX-15 electro-optical/infrared sensor, Horizon Technologies‘ FlyingFish XPOD satellite phone monitoring system and Thales‘ I-Master Radar.
