General Dynamics‘ Bath Iron Works subsidiary will provide integrated planning yard services for the U.S. Navy‘s DDG-51 destroyer and FFG-7 frigate under a potential $87.2 million contract.
Work covers design, material and planning support to facilitate the guided missile ships’ maintenance and modernization, the Defense Department said Wednesday.
The Navy will obligate $5.3 million in fiscal year 2018 operations and maintenance funds along with $112,800 in FY 2018 “other” procurement funds at the time of award.
The Naval Sea Systems Command is the contracting activity and the service branch did not competitively procure the services, pursuant to the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
