NASA has announced plans to conduct a full and open competition for a multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to deliver scientific payloads to the Moon.
In a draft request for proposals notice posted Friday on FedBizOpps, the space agency said it seeks contractor-provided assets to integrate, transport and operate instruments and technology demonstration payloads intended for the lunar surface.
Equipment needed to carry out the mission include lunar lander spacecraft and surface systems, launch vehicles and Earth re-entry vehicles.
The agency plans to host an industry day/preproposal conference on May 8 at its headquarters to provide further information on the potential 10-year IDIQ contract.
NASA aims to release a final solicitation notice in mid-July.
