Cecil Haney, a retired U.S. Navy admiral and former head of the U.S. Strategic Command, has joined Systems Planning and Analysis‘ board of directors.
SPA CEO and President William Vantine said in a press release that Haney brings to the company his experience in military operations, defense acquisition, nuclear deterrence, missile defense, space, cyber and plans, policy and requirements.
At Stratcom, Haney oversaw global command and control of U.S. strategic forces that aimed to address the country’s national security goals in the nuclear, space, missile defense, electronic warfare and cyber areas.
He also led the U.S. Pacific Fleet as commander and held leadership roles at Navy units in every level during his tenure as a submariner.
The nearly 40-year Navy veteran serves on the board of managers at the Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Laboratory; National Academy of Sciences’ naval studies board and the Center for New American Security’s board of directors.
