Sanjay Brahmawar, a 14-year IBM veteran, has been appointed by Software AG‘s supervisory board to serve as CEO of the enterprise software vendor effective Aug. 1.
Software AG said Wednesday he will succeed Karl-Heinz Streibich, who is due to retire from the company after 14 years at the helm.
Brahmawar currently serves as general manager for global revenue at IBM’s Watson internet-of-things business and oversees worldwide sales of data analysis and artificial intelligence software products in that capacity.
He previously held vice president and executive and associate partner roles within various IBM businesses.
Prior to IBM, he served at PwC as a managing consultant and a manager at Fedex, DSM and Honda.
He was born in India and holds Belgian nationality.
Brahmawar earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Delhi College of Engineering and M.B.A from University of Leeds.
